Royal Colonial Institute Lodge hosts a demonstration
On 6 June, Royal Colonial Institute Lodge No.3556 hosted a demonstration of a 1717 Initiation ceremony. Conducted in a packed temple of over 80 brethren, the Elizabethan Lodge proceeded to show us how an English Lodge would have initiated a candidate. Much of what happened then survives to this day, and some aspects of Continental Freemasonry performed today were also apparent then.
Afterwards over 50 brethren headed to Fortnum & Mason for a sumptuous Festive Board.
