School-In-A-Box

The Commonwealth Lodges’ Association has always been committed to charitable efforts since its founding in 1972.

During the pandemic, the CLA took the opportunity to review its charity efforts and decided upon School-In-A-Box.

In many developing countries, children in more rural/isolated areas do not have access to resources for education prior to attendance at school.

This lack of access to formal education means that they are behind their peers in terms of education.

The plan involves providing effective schooling solutions that can be administered in more isolated/rural areas.

School-In-A-Box will provide three styles of boxes, catering to teachers, pre-school students, and early learning.

  • The teachers’ boxes will include educational material, and the box itself will break out into a reversible instructional easel. The teachers will also be provided with instructions for educational activities, teaching objectives, attendance registers and a report card system. Pre-school boxes will include stationery, as well as picture books and arts materials. The Early School boxes will include stationery and materials to assist in learning, reading and arithmetic.
  • Pre-School boxes will be provided with stationery, as well as picture books and arts materials.
  • The Early School boxes will include stationery and other learning material provided to assist in learning reading and arithmetic.

All boxes will be created in consultation with educational experts, and refined over a period of time from feedback provided.

If you would like to donate to the School-In-A-Box program, please contact the secretary. All charitable donations go directly to the School-In-A-Box project.
